We would like to start with a big thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and came to the event yesterday, those who donated buns and prizes, those who donated money and finally those who donated their time to ensure the event was a success. Volunteers really do make a difference!
The day started with our Yorkshire Man Dan running a session on how to take cuttings, using Rosemary from the allotment, not only that Dan shared his tried and tested recipe for making his own cutting compost. Thanks to those who took part and let us know how your cutting gets on.
Dan's Cutting Compost Recipe
3 parts compost
1 part sand
1 part grit
Everyone then tucked into an afternoon tea including sandwiches, cakes, buns, quiche, sausage rolls, scones and a cuppa. Yummmm.
The afternoon was finished off with a West End favourite Ratty's virtual horse racing, it was like been at the races with everyone cheering on their own horse!! Lots of fun and laughter.
