It's National Gardening Week. What are you growing?

West End Centre

This week is National Gardening Week and so to celebrate we asked our community to send in pictures of what they are growing at home or in their gardens. These are the pictures you sent us. From onions and herbs to potatoes, garlic and flowers its great to see you getting involved.

During the first lockdown many people took to their gardens and found a new love for growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers. Since we reopened our allotment we have encouraged people to bring along seeds and plant and them store in our poly tunnel to watch them grow. Some will be planted in the allotment to eventually provide crops for our green foodbank, some people will take home to plant in their own gardens and on windowsills and some are destined for a community plant sale.

Tomorrow we will be bringing you news of our onion growing competition where there is a hamper of home grown produce from the allotment up for grabs- so watch this space!
