Keeping our community tidy. Great British Spring Clean Litter Pick

West End Centre

It’s time for the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean Community Litter Pick and Yorkshire man Dan and Scruff, our therapy dog rounded up a team of people to tidy up our local area. This year’s group was made up of West Enders and Council Wardens.  The sun even made an appearance!

Yorkshire man Dan fired out some seed bombs made by the allotment group during the winter months, this will spread wildflowers in neglected corners of the local area.   We collected over 30 bags of litter between us it has made a difference but plenty more to go at.  A good mornings work!

Here is what our litter pickers told us:

Ela: My first time on a community litter pick I cannot believe that people just throw their litter about.  It was quite surprising to see how many litter bags got filled up quickly. However, it was a very rewarding feeling for me. I feel better knowing that I have contributed to keeping my beloved community clean.

Ken: it was very good to be out in the fresh air. I enjoy keeping the area tidy.

Dian: I enjoy outdoors and tidying Christopher Street up was satisfying for me to see it look better than before.

A big thank you to everyone who turned out and took part in the litter pick.
