Diet Therapy Session: Rethinking Pain

West End Centre

Thank you to everyone who attended our Diet Therapy session yesterday.

The pain peer support group, Rethinking Pain, which runs monthly at the centre is a social group giving people facing similar daily challenges an opportunity to meet and share information.

The group looked at how diet can help long term pain, support sleep, manage flare ups and how tiny changes can make a difference.

Did you know that the Mediterranean diet has been linked to reduce inflammation and persistent pain?

A Mediterranean Diet!! Yes, you read it right.

It Is a diet that is typically high in unsaturated fat and carbohydrates like whole grains, vegetables, olive oil and fruits.

Here is what some of the members had to say:

Jamila : it’s been very interesting. I feel like I have made a good effort in knowing about healthy eating.

Diana:  it is fascinating knowing how different foods can help reduce pain and inflammation

Sandra: it was brilliant and interesting. I enjoyed it and will be reading up on it.

If you are interested in coming to the group, please call in to centre or contact us on 07592003595
